Grab a slice of pizza and your iPhone or iPad as TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is now available on the App Store.

You’ll join everyone’s favorite heroes in a half shell—Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo—on a totally tubular adventure. April, Master Splinter or Casey Jones are also playable characters for the first time.

Inspired by the 1980s, you’ll definitely enjoy old-school gameplay enhanced with new fighting mechanics. The design is nostalgic and features full-color pixel art just like the arcade games of the decade.

As you might expect, the heroes need to foil the latest evil plan from Krang and Shredder.

The game features more than a dozen levels where you’ll smash, crash, and fight your way through enemies like Baxter Stockman or the Triceraton.

Along with touchsreeen controls, the game is also compatible with a Bluetooth controller for better control of your fighting moves.

TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is a free download on the App Store. An $8.99 in-app purchase will unlock the entire game.

We’re just a few months into the year, but The Art of Fauna has easily become one of my favorite puzzlers of 2025.

It’s all about nature and is both simplistic and beautiful.

Each puzzle is made from stunning wildlife illustrations from the 18th and 19th century by artists like John James Audubon and John Gould. Along with the picture, there is a detailed description about the animal.

There are two ways to put together each puzzle, the image or text for even a bigger challenge.

And for Earth Day, the puzzler has just gotten a great new update. There is a new puzzle pack—Echoes of Extinction. The pack features animals like the passenger pigeon, quagga, and dodo. All 10 of the animals were alive when their illustrations were made, but have since gone extinct.

The update also brings new app icons.

The Art of Fauna is for the iPhone and all iPad models. You can download the free app now and play the first 10 puzzles. Unlock more than 100 puzzles in the game for an in-app purchase of $7.99.

Optionally, you can also unlock each of the five biomes for a separate $2.99 in-app purchase.

A portion of every purchase will be given back to support elected wildlife conservation organizations.

The new game Next Letter is a perfect choice for word game fans of all levels.

Getting started is easy. Each games starts with a randomly chosen letter from A to Z and give possible next letters. Some of those are valid to create words while others are not. When you select a valid letter, it adds to the words and earns points. An invalid word deducts points.

That process continues until a complete word is formed. You can submit the word to head to the next round or try to extend it. The round continues until no further extensions are possible, leading to a new random letter.

As a nice touch, the game is playable without an Internet connection, making it perfect for a long flight or a car ride without Wi-Fi.

Next Letter is a free download now on the App Store. It’s for the iPhone and all iPad models.

There is an optional in-app purchase of $9.99. That will unlock additional themes, detailed statistics, and more than 190,000 words with definitions.

Ever see a plant, animal, bug, or bird in the wild that you recognise – but can’t quite name? Well those days are a thing of the past thanks to EarthSnap.

An AI-Powered App from Earth.com, it helps you to identify over 2 million species of plant and animal. It offers an accessible way to better understand the natural world that’s around all of us.

Launched in April to celebrate Earth Month, the app couldn’t be easier to use either.

Utilizing advanced AI Earthsnap allows you to identify species in seconds, just by taking a quick photo.

Once identified you’ll have access to detailed insights on the species snapped – including a search function for learning more about it and an interactive Global SnapMap showing you where others have spotted that species around the world.

So whether you’re an avid hiker, casual traveler, or enthusiastic gardener EarthSnap can help you feel a whole lot closer to nature. As well as closer to fellow animal and plant lovers too.

That’s largely because of the welcoming EarthSnappers Community. This feature of EarthSnap allows you to share their discoveries, as well as engage with fellow users on where to find the species or plant you’re searching for. Thanks to this the database of information at your fingertips is growing day by day as well.

There’s the chance to save and organize your personal discoveries in a digital library too, and even cross-platform accessibility to make looking at these simple across mobile and desktop.

With over 15 million visitors to Earth.com every month there’s clearly a massive hunger for AI driven tools to help people embrace exploration of the natural world around them.

So make sure you get involved by downloading EarthSnap now via iOS and Android. There’s the app’s official site here too.

If you’re a fan of surreal, point-and-click adventures like the Rusty Lake series and Samorost, make sure to give the new game Follow the Meaning a try.

In the game, a desperate letter summons detective Paul Tribly to an island town with its share of secrets. Divided by a wall and ruled by a hospital, regular citizens can get admitted and then return without their memories. It’s up to you to get to the bottom of the conspiracy.

OPUS: Rocket of Whispers

OPUS: Rocket of Whispers is a story-driven exploration game that is packed full of emotions.

Visually, OPUS is beautiful, as the game features hand-drawn artwork that’s packed with incredible detail. While the game is rendered mostly in 2D, it utilizes a top-down perspective, so there’s a bit of depth to everything on the screen. And since the game takes place in the snowy mountains, the color palette is rather muted and gloomy with earthy tones and some soft pastels. Animations are smooth and fluid with no lag on my iPhone 7. There’s an atmospheric soundtrack in the background that is fitting for the overall theme of the game, and the sound effects are rather realistic. Overall, the developer did a great job with OPUS in terms of visual and audio design.

Since OPUS: Rocket of Whispers is a story-driven game, players will be taken through a rather emotional roller coaster from the beginning. There’s a lot of text and dialogue in OPUS due to the narrative, so a lot of reading is involved. However, the story is rather interesting, and it captures you from the get-go, though it does start off a bit slow. I also found the characters to be full of personality, even though the main character is a bit annoying due to his attitude.

The free game is for the iPhone and iPad. An in-app purchase will unlock the entire game.

Where’s my geek?

Based on the game Time Geeks, Where’s my geek? is a hidden object game with over 200 levels in its Story Mode where you will complete your missions by locating the objects displayed. Then, unlock Zombie Mode with 50 levels, the retro arcade game machine, two-player mode, and try out the weekly tournaments. Within the time given, just move around the busy scene until you find the object and tap.

Where’s my geek? is a colorful, hidden object game with an upbeat theme. Search for each object to complete that level’s mission and move on. You do not have much time, so scan, pan, and zoom in on the crowded scene quickly. The game has vibrant graphics, enjoyable sound effects, and funky music.

Finding the objects is challenging due to the packed scenes you are given and the time limit, but Where’s my geek? is a fun hidden object game. It is bubbly, energetic, and has an uplifting theme and story. If you enjoy this genre and like the simple stories rather than the lengthy dramatic ones, this is your game.

The game is $2.99 for the iPhone and iPad along with Apple TV.

Pearl's Peril

Travel the world in Pearl’s Peril finding objects, decorating your island, and watching out for danger. You will continue to unlock locations and clues as you solve the puzzles. New Star Games continues to nail the retro sports game. I’ve always been a fan of the wide variety of games from the developer like Retro Bowl and Retro Bowl College. And the newest game from the developer moves you from the gridiron to the race track.

And in New Star GP, you’ll jump into the world of arcade racing. Anyone who enjoyed racing games of the 1990s will sure to enjoy the new game.

You’ll take control of your own motorsport team to guide the technological development, plan race strategy, and drive to victory from the 1980s all the way to today.

While anyone can pick up and start driving with simple controls, there are multiple layers of driving to manage. Some of those include tire choice and wear, component reliability, fuel load, and pit strategy.

Just like any good racing game, you can speed around events all around the world in some iconic locations. The visuals and soundtrack are absolutely perfect and a true blast from the past.

New Star GP is a free download now on the App Store for the iPhone and all iPad models. There are in-app purchases available.

I’ve just started racing, but New Star GP is fantastic. As a big fan of retro games, this is another great way to go back in time.

It’s a great time to be a Resident Evil and App Store gaming fan. Capcom has just released Resident Evil 3 for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Here’s the official description of the game, which was originally released on consoles in 2020:

A series of strange disappearances have been occurring in the American Midwest within a place called Racoon City. A specialist squad of the police force known as S.T.A.R.S. has been investigating the case, and have determined that the pharmaceutical company Umbrella and their biological weapon, the T-Virus, are behind the incidents—though they’ve lost several members in the process. Jill Valentine and the other surviving S.T.A.R.S. members try to make this truth known, but find that the police department itself is under Umbrella’s sway and their reports are rejected out of hand.

However, soon reports of a grisly “cannibal virus” begin to surface, and vicious dogs begin roaming the streets. With the viral plague spreading through the town and to her very doorstep, Jill is determined to survive.

However, unbeknownst to Jill, an extremely powerful pursuer has already been dispatched to eliminate her.

While you can play the game on the touchscreen, Capcom recommends you use a controller.

Gamers of any age and skill level will definitely come away with a smile after playing The Great Sneeze.

The fun game begins before an exhibition showcasing the work of Caspar David Friedrich. Just before it begins, a powerful sneeze throws everything into chaos.

A trio of friends, Kaspar, David, and Friederike, are tasked with saving the exhibition. During playing, you will solve a number of puzzles while chasing after the Wanderer above the Sea of Fog while he journeys through Friedrich’s works.

The game’s point-and-click mechanics make it accessible to players of all skill levels.

While I was somewhat familiar with all of Friedrich’s work before playing, I enjoyed getting to learn more about the artist and all of his works.

The Great Sneeze is for the iPhone and all iPad models. It’s a free download now on the App Store. There are no ads or in-app purchases.
